St. F.X. soccer coach going to Universiade
St. Francis Xavier X-Men soccer head coach Graham Kennedy has been named team leader for Canada’s soccer squad at the 26th Summer Universiade, Aug. 12-23, 2011 in Shenzhen, China.
Canadian Interuniversity Sport made the announcement on Thursday.
Steve Hart of the University of Windsor Lancers has been appointed head coach and will be accompanied by assistant coach Keith Mason of the Guelph Gryphons.
The Canadian roster, comprised for the most part of CIS standouts, will be announced in the spring of 2011.
Kennedy guided St. F.X. to a 5-4-4 Atlantic conference record in his head coaching debut last season.
National golf body getting new nameThe Royal Canadian Golf Association is rebranding itself as Golf Canada.
The name change is effective immediately and brings it in line with other national sport organizations like Hockey Canada, Skate Canada, Baseball Canada and others.
