According to the Lake Village correspondent, "Those who have been authorized to purchase land whereon to locate the reservoir for the Laconia and Lake Village Water Works have attended to the duties assigned them, and inform us that they have bought two acres or more of the south end of Robie's field, adjoining the land owned by Mr. Cox, on the hill east of the village." The Cole Manufacturing Co. "is now erecting three buildings to be used for manufacturing the pipe for the water works. The managers inform us that they will be completed ready for use (supplied with power and water), in three weeks. It is understood that work will be commenced on the works in the near future."
Business at the Laconia Car Works was "looking decidedly better, and the prospects are that there will be plenty of work a year to come. The Boston Stock Car folks have ordered one hundred more cars to be finished in June and there are others enough in the passenger car department to keep things moving
